| How do I sign up? |
You will be able to input your profile data through 'find a coach' from the main menu screen on the left of the home page. From here, you will be routed to the athlete profile to complete. Once you complete this profile and hit the 'submit' button, you will receive an email with your username and password. When you open the site again, using the 'login' menu button on the left hand side menu, you will log into your personal home page where you will find the coaches who are matched with you. |
| What cost is there to me as an Athlete? |
The cost to you as an Athlete is simply the stated hourly rate of the coach, there are no hidden fee's or charges. You can find the hourly rates on the 'services' tab. When you sign with a coach, you will receive all of the full premium features of coachme including a personalized home page with your race data, training tips*, training peaks plans*, and all of the other services listed on the 'services' tab. | How does this work? |
OK, this is where it gets easy. This is how this works.
- Our database contains all of the coachme coaches who are nationwide, ready to meet with you.
- You follow the sign up instructions detailed in another section of this Q&A. You will need 5 minutes to complete this.
- Once you submit, the proprietary coachme triathlon match engine will immediately match you with local coaches. Once you log into your home page you will then see the coach's bio's, including their performance, pricing, and coaching philosophies.
- You will select a coach from the list and be taken to their calendar page
- From here you will select a coaching time and submit your reservation
- You will be taken to the external secure payment screen
- Once you have paid for the session, you will receive an email from coachme confirming your reservation(s)
- Your coach will be in contact with you within 24 hours of your reservation to initiate the session
- You meet your coach and find out how to improve your training and race performance!
- Yes, it is that simple!
There is also a 'how to document' with screen shots contained within your athlete home page, with specific screen shots for each step, along with a video to watch that covers the same data in less depth.

| What guarantee of performance do I get? |
You get a guarantee that the coach will add value to your training, you are able to rate the coach following the session and any issues will be dealt with direct with coachme triathlon staff. |
| How often can I change coaches? |
You are not tied to any one coach; you can change coaches daily if you wish. Use one coach for each discipline, or stick with one coach for all your needs, the choice is completely yours. |
| Do I get an online plan as well? |
You have the option of purchasing an online plan, and managing it yourself, or using a coachme online coach / Pro-coach™ (Spring / Summer 2011), or if you use our service for a minimum of 2 hours per 4 week period, you will have access to your very own online plan. This plan is a basic guide to reaching your distance goal. For a minimum fee through Training Peaks™ you can upgrade to premium and be able to update and personalize your plan. |
| What is a Pro-coach™? |
Pro-coach™ is a service we offer where you will be linked with a professional triathlete to manage your online plan. If you are also working with a local coach, the Pro-coach™ and your local coach will communicate with you and each other, to ensure that your plan is accurate for your training and race goal needs. You will have access through phone and email with your on Pro-coach™, updating as you need to. In knowing your Pro-coach™, you are sure of who is helping with your online plan, rather than feeling you are being managed by a machine! |
| Who manages my Training Peaks plan? |
Your basic account is an online plan where you can follow the basic program to achieve your race goals. With an upgrade through Training Peaks™ you have the option of managing the plan yourself, choose one of the free plans and update it with advice from the coaches you are using, or for a low weekly fee, you can sign up with your local coach if they agree, or an online coachme triathlon coach to manage your plan. The plans can be purchased through the coachme triathlon site, including Pro-coach™, where a professional in our sport updates and manages your plan, through co-ordination with your local coach and direct contact with you. The best of all worlds, a local face to face coach with the backing of a professional athlete managing your plan! |
| Where do I meet my coach? |
You can organize to meet your coach anywhere. Your local gym (if you are both members) or most of the time you will be outside working on specific skills for triathlon. You will be contacted by your coach prior to your session to agree on the location to meet. Your coach will have information on where to meet in order to best serve your needs. Swimming is probably the only sport where you may need to utilize a public pool, or even better, open water, for your training. |
| How do I contact my coach? |
Once you have reserved your coach, they will be in contact with you through your preferred method, email, text or phone, to setup the coaching session. You will then be in direct contact with your chosen coach(es). In the email you receive following making the reservation, the coach's phone number and email will be listed for you. |
| What other resources do I get? |
Part of the 'freemium' service is a great web site that will keep you up to date with all that is happening in the world of triathlon. Once you have reserved time with a coach you will have access to your very own home page where you can view your online Training Peaks™ plan, training videos and demos, webinars, shopping deals, calendar of your upcoming races and much more. We will be listening to your feedback, looking for the other features you would like to see on your home page. Note – Many of these services will be launched as the site evolves over the coming months. |
| What is 'RaceMate'? |
RaceMate hosting is for athletes travelling away from their home states / cities. RaceMates are coachme triathlon coaches who live local to the race you are travelling to. RaceMates will meet with you, helping with getting you comfortable with the race site layout, transition, parking for race morning etc. Why work with another company when the RaceMates are part of your same community? Their goal is to ensure that your race experience runs smoothly. Each race will be different; RaceMates will drive you round the bike course, take you through the run course, and where allowed by the race director, offer you the option of taking a dip at the swim venue. On race day RaceMates are there to help your day go smoothly, including holding your race day equipment safe, offering a place where you can go and sit down, eat / drink after the race, and even in some instances, a ride to the event. This will evolve as we host more and more athletes from your feedback as to what you want from the service. |
| Can I download my online plan? |
Yes, you will be able to access and print your plan. You will also receive frequent email updates as to your daily training schedule. We are working on an application to allow you to update your plan from your smart phone as well; this will be launched in the summer. |
| Do I need additional insurance? |
Your Coachme coach will be required to carry an amount of supplemental insurance; this is laid out in your athlete contract. This will cover up to a certain amount as detailed in the contract. |
| What happens if my favorite coach has no times available due to others reserving time? |
We are striving to add as many coaches as possible to the database, to ensure that there will not be issues such as these. However, to be sure you have time reserved with your favorite coach; you can take advantage of purchasing advance hours and reserve your time slots into the future. |
| What happens if I need to cancel an appointment? |
Please see our terms and conditions for more detail, however, simply put you can reschedule or cancel an appointment outside of a 72 hour time period at no charge; once you are within 72 hours you will be able to reschedule only. There is a maximum number of times that you can reschedule an appointment, please check the terms and conditions. This is to ensure that the system allows everyone to enjoy the service without facing too much disruption. |
| Is my personal information secure? |
Yes, your payment is made through an online secured site; this will be external to coachme triathlon through a secure server. Your personal information is also kept secure. Your coach will have access to your basic profile only, including your recent race performance, areas for development and other basic data; this is to ensure the coached session is as beneficial to you as possible. Please check the terms and conditions for detail. |
| What happens if my coach cancels the session? |
You will be fully refunded for the full amount of the session and given priority to reserve time either with the same coach or different one. |
